Highway to Dhampus
‘Highway to Dhampus’ is a movie being made by an American producer John de Blas Williams and Rick McFarland. Along with the American actor, Gunner Wright, who has previously worked in movies like, ‘Love’ and ‘Dead Space”, Nepalese movie star, Raj Ballav Koirala will also be seen sharing space in the movie.
In the movie, British actress, Rachel Hurd Wood will be taking the female lead role, with Suesha Rana, Desh Bhakt Khanal, and child artist Sayush Gurung. The British actress has bagged many of the movies in her carrier. We can see her as Wendy Darling in the movie Peter Pan, in Sherlock Holmes and the case of silk stocking, Perfume as to name few of the movies she has worked in.
This movie which is being shot in Dhampus will be shortly shot in Phalpu, Solokhumbu. Though all round 85% of the movie will be shot in Nepal, there are scenes to be shot in England, America and Kuwait too.
According to Koirala, this movie has strengthened the relations between the Nepalese and American Government. The story line of the movie being based in Nepalese story, Dhampus fell in for the perfect choice, says the director.
Raj Ballav will play the role as of a Pilot in the movie, where he is seen flying Pilatus Porter. He further adds that his role is connected with the story as he flies the character to and fro and how their relationship gets closer.
He finds himself lucky to have had a chance to work in a Hollywood venture and is looking forward to join in the Berlin and Toronto Film Festival.
Actress Rachel too is excited about her shooting in Dhampus, comments, “It was a great experience shooting in Dhampus.” She further says, “With this movie we can see a positive outlook towards the changes in Nepal.”
The artists of the movie were greeted warm farewell by the Director of Mount Kailash Resort.
